Synopsis

Bridgette Da Silva has several cultural studies articles published in Strange Horizons and the Internet Review of Science Fiction. She speaks nerd fluently, and while English is her first language, philosophy is her mother tongue: she loves studying the relationship between culture and identity. She believes stories can help us understand larger truths.

A special place in her heart is reserved for misunderstood geniuses. Think Euripides, Michael Jackson, and Thomas Paine (five points to the person who can name what these three had in common.)

She appreciates nuance and cleverness, the unanticipated but fully-foreshadowed plot twist, the revelation that leaves the character and reader gasping. Great stories touch a raw chord inside our humanity. The best stories leave an impression there.
